Introducing a sunflower glass ornament from Sea Glasbruk/Sweden. Although the manufacturer is still in production, this piece is an ornament from the 1960s-70s.
A sunflower relief is carved into the rough, weighty glass, and then hand-painted on the back.
It's a very vibrant and powerful glass ornament. There's also a tulip ornament in the same series. Swedish glass art has many artistically excellent works.
Winters in the Nordic countries are long, and summers are short and fleeting, so people place bright ornaments by their windows to enjoy in their rooms, longing for spring in winter and cherishing the summer sun in summer.
This is a highly popular and rare glass ornament.
