Introducing a charming boy figurine from Rutebo Leksand, crafted in ceramic and adorned in traditional Northern Swedish folk costume.
Rutebo is a ceramic studio established in 1956 by Rut Carla Landsröm Rutebo and her husband.
They produce many small animal and child figurines, which are highly sought after by collectors in Sweden.
This is a delightful object called "Turgumma," meaning "lucky girl." Her name is engraved on her back. The Rutebo signature is also engraved at her feet. There is a tradition at the Wasa Lopp, a 90km ski race held in Mora, Northern Sweden every March, where this Turgumma, "lucky girl," presents a wreath to the winner at the finish line.
This time, we have welcomed both a boy and a girl figurine.
