Rutebo Leksand Advent Candle Holder / Stalledräng 5-Hästar

Introducing a handmade Advent candle holder from Rutebo Leksand. Rutebo was a ceramic studio established in 1956 by Rut Carla Landsröm Rutebo and her husband. This handmade piece depicts five lovely Icelandic ponies eating in a stable on a farm. Traditionally, there would be a boy named Staffan riding the horse in the middle, but unfortunately, he is missing from this piece. Sankt Staffans Visa Från Noorland is a famous Swedish Christmas carol that all Swedes can sing. Staffan was a "Dräng" (farmhand) in old Sweden, a live-in helper who cared for horses, sheep, and other animals on farms. Although Staffan is absent, the remaining horses are beautifully preserved, making this a very tasteful and wonderful piece. Given that next year is the Year of the Horse, we have decided to offer it for sale at a special price.
Small animal and child figurines, popular even in Japan, were extensively produced by Rut's son and his wife after her retirement, specializing in miniature works. We will include candles that fit this piece.

(Condition) : A boy is supposed to be sitting in the middle, but he is missing. There is some glaze loss in one spot on the feeding trough and one spot on the candle holder. As this is an old item, there is some dirt and paint loss due to age, but overall there are no noticeable chips or cracks, and it is in beautiful condition for a vintage item.
