This is a Royal Copenhagen Mother's Day annual plate.
Mother's Day plates were only produced from 1971 to 1982. This is the 1976 plate. Since it is a decorative plate, there is a wire on the back.
The design is by Danish illustrator Arne Ungemann Jorgensen.
This plate features a design of the Little Mermaid and her mother, famous from Andersen's fairy tales. It is a heartwarming plate where the girl presents a hair ornament to her mother's hair.
