Introducing Rotslöjd trays and baskets, traditional handicrafts from Northern Sweden, handmade by the Sami people, an indigenous group.
They are crafted from Björkrot (birch roots and stems), processed into cord-like material.
These handicrafts require a great deal of effort and time to create. They are highly sought after by collectors, and Sami crafts can fetch very high prices at auctions.
This piece has just the right depth and size. The bottom has feet so that the basket doesn't directly touch the surface when displayed. It's a charming basket with a rustic and warm feel that will make a lovely addition to any room.
