Introducing a 15.5cm plate from Rörstrand, part of the Svala series produced and sold from 1897 to 1907.
"Svala" means "swallow" in Swedish. Swallows gracefully fly across the plate, perhaps among poppy flowers.
Rörstrand, founded in 1726, is a venerable Swedish pottery company that has been a leading manufacturer to this day.
This plate is a very old piece, made about 120 years ago.
It is an antique plate. The popular "Öresund" plates from Gustavsberg were produced around the same time, suggesting that bird designs were popular then, perhaps due to French influence.

(Condition): No noticeable chips or cracks. Most plates from about 120 years ago show crazing, stains, and minor imperfections, but this one is in very good antique condition with no crazing, good luster, and few scratches.
