Old Rörstrand/Svala/Soup Plate/23.5cm

Introducing the Svala soup plate from Rörstrand, produced and sold from 1897 to 1907.
Svala means swallow in Swedish. Swallows gracefully fly across the plate, perhaps among poppy flowers.
Rörstrand is a venerable Swedish kiln that has represented Sweden since its founding in 1726.
This plate is a very old item, made about 120 years ago.
It is an antique plate. Gustavsberg's popular Ålesund plates were produced around the same time, and it seems that bird designs were popular then, perhaps due to French influence.

(Condition): There are no noticeable chips or cracks. Most plates from about 120 years ago show crazing, stains, and old scratches, but this one has no crazing, has a good sheen, and few scratches, making it a very clean antique for its age.
