Old Rörstrand / Svala / Dinner Plate / 23.5cm / Blue

Introducing the Svala dinner plate from Rörstrand, produced and sold from 1897 to 1907.
Svala means "swallow" in Swedish. Swallows gracefully fly across the plate, perhaps among poppy flowers.
Rörstrand, founded in 1726, is a venerable and leading pottery in Sweden, still in operation today.
This plate is a very old item, made approximately 120 years ago.
It is an antique plate. Gustavsberg's popular Åresund plates were also produced around the same time, and it seems that bird designs were popular then, possibly due to French influence.

(Condition): No noticeable chips or cracks. Plates from about 120 years ago almost always show crazing, stains, and old scratches, but this one is in very beautiful condition for an antique, with no crazing, good luster, and few scratches.
