Introducing the Dala horse, a traditional Swedish handicraft made in the Dalarna region.
There are several Dala horse workshops in the Dalarna region, and this one is from the long-established workshop of the Nils Ohlsson brothers.
The Dala horse gained fame about 70 years ago, at the 1939 International Exposition in New York, where the Swedish pavilion displayed a large Dala horse outside, attracting much attention and becoming a popular topic. This was reportedly the origin of its popularity.
This is not a new item, but a well-maintained Dala horse.
