Introducing a Jie Gantofta/Stoneware dog figurine holding a basket in its mouth. This is a meticulously crafted handmade piece, made to resemble a real dog. I believe it's a beagle. Its jet-black eyes are adorable. The basket is hollow, allowing you to display flowers or nuts inside. Jie is famous for its "flower girl" figurines, but this is the first time I've seen a dog one.
The design is by Maria Ericsson.
Even though it's Jie, the charm lies in how different it is from Annika's works.
Jie is well-known for its ceramic plaques and single-flower vases featuring women, and while they did release a dog series like this, they are rarely seen, making this a very rare piece.
(Size) : Height: 13cm, Length: approx. 14cm
(Country of origin) : Sweden
(Designer) : Maria Ericson
(Era) : 1970s
(Condition) : There is a small paint loss on the basket, but it's barely noticeable. There are no cracks or chips, and considering it's vintage, it's in beautiful condition.
