Jie Gantofta/Ji.Gantofta/Ceramic Plaque/Wild Strawberry

This is a charming white ceramic plate with a wild strawberry (Smultron) motif from Jie Gantofta.
In Sweden, a place that you love so much you don't want to tell anyone else about it is called a "Smultron ställe." Wild strawberries are sweet, tart, and fragrant. It's a common custom here to thread many wild strawberries onto the long grass depicted on both sides and eat them.
This piece beautifully captures that charm.
The designer is Nietosvuori Aimo. He was a star designer who worked at Jie Gantofta the longest and was responsible for their designs. He joined the company in 1967 and stayed until the end in 1992. He created many beautiful Swedish landscape flower motifs and floral ceramic plates.
White ceramic bases were frequently used from the 1980s onwards.
