Introducing the Berså butter dish, a masterpiece by Stig Lindberg, a well-known icon of Scandinavian tableware.
Berså enjoys immense popularity in both Sweden and Japan.
The vibrant young leaf design on white bone china is undeniably popular with both men and women.
Vintage pieces have the Berså young leaf design on the underside of the saucer.
While familiar in Japan as "Berså," here it is written as Berså/ and pronounced "beshow."
The meaning refers to a place where trees are planted like a fence in a town or a corner of a park, with a bench beside them for taking a rest. However, it seems to be a word that is no longer used much.
This is a very rare butter dish, and it's uncommon to find one in such beautiful condition, so don't miss out.
(Size): 16cm x 8.5cm, Height: approx. 6.5cm
(Country of origin): SWEDEN
(Designer): Stig Lindberg
(Period): 1960 - 1974
(Condition): No noticeable chips or cracks. There are light brown stains due to age on the top and rim of the case. There is some minor paint loss in one spot. The young leaf decor is in very good condition, and the piece as a whole has a good luster, making it a very clean vintage piece.
