Introducing the Arabia/Ruska series teacup & saucer.
Ruska means autumn leaves or autumn colors.
By using a special glaze, it has various shades such as ochre, red-brown, and dark brown. It has a warm atmosphere, similar to Bizen ware, a type of Japanese ceramic.
The Ruska series was developed in 1960-61 as a durable stoneware that could be used in ovens, inspired by a new modern lifestyle. The design is by Ulla Procope. Procope passed away in 1968, but Arabia launched the Ruska series globally shortly after.
The special glaze gives it a matte texture and a unique, deep character to each piece.
If you have a preferred color, please let us know in the remarks column.
