Introducing a small ceramic plaque from Arabia that can be hung on the wall.
It was designed by Helja Liukko-Sundström.
She joined Arabia in 1962, moved to the art department in 1967, and produced many ceramic plaques. By around 2000, she had created nearly 200 different works.
Her motifs often combine Finnish nature, wildflowers, buildings, and animals, with rabbits and penguins being particularly common. Her works are highly artistic with a fairy-tale touch, which is their charm.
This piece, created in the studio, features sheep in a field seen through lace curtains, making it look as if the sheep are part of the curtain pattern. It's a lovely design with a symmetrical arrangement around a central flower.
