Introducing a vertical oval ceramic plate from Arabia, with a hook attached for hanging on the wall.
The design is by Helja Liukko Sundström.
She joined Arabia in 1962, moved to the art department in 1967, and produced many ceramic plates and ceramic objects.
By around 2000, she had created nearly 200 different works.
Her motifs often combine Finnish nature, wildflowers, buildings, and animals, with rabbits and penguins being particularly popular. Her works are characterized by their highly artistic, fairy-tale-like touch.
Helja's works are distinctive for their sophisticated use of colors mixed with pearls, which redefined the image of traditional ceramic plates.
This particular piece is one of the many red tulip ceramic plates designed by Helja. It seems to have been her favorite flower.
This time, three of Helja's ceramic plates have arrived.
Their size is neither too large nor too small, making them ceramic plates with an impactful presence when displayed in a room.
