Introducing a small ceramic art tile from Arabia, perfect for hanging on a wall. The design is by Helja Liukko-Sundström. She joined Arabia in 1962, moved to the art department in 1967, and created many ceramic art tiles. By around 2000, she had produced nearly 200 different works. Her motifs combine Finnish nature, wild flowers, buildings, and animals, with rabbits and penguins being particularly common. The charm lies in her highly artistic works with a fairy-tale touch. This particular piece, made in her atelier, features the bright red of an apple that catches the eye, and upon closer inspection, the image seems to stand tall above a dark ground, conveying a sense of emotion. The colors are also distinctly Scandinavian, making it a truly wonderful art tile. Please feel free to weave your own story around it.
